Night Shift Nurse – RN or LPN
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team on the night shift. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining efficient operations at the nurses station, providing direct care on the ER floor, and attending to our custodial care patients. Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Assessment: Evaluate, plan, and deliver comprehensive nursing care to acute ER patients and long-term custodial care residents according to physician orders and established plans of care.
Nurses Station Operations: Monitor unit activities, coordinate patient admissions/transfers/discharges, and serve as a primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members.
Emergency Floor Support: Assist in triaging, stabilizing, and managing emergency room patients; perform bedside procedures, wound care, and emergency interventions within your scope of practice.
Medication Administration & Treatments: Safely prepare and administer medications (PO, IV, IM, SQ, nebulized treatments) following the "5 Rights of Medication Administration" and hospital policies.
Custodial Care & ADLs: Assist custodial care patients with daily living activities, vital signs monitoring, routine health maintenance, intake/output tracking, and comfort care.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, timely medical records in the Epic EMR system. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, patient rights, and hospital policies.
Teamwork & Delegation: Collaborate effectively with attending providers, staff, and support departments; delegate tasks appropriately to support personnel to maintain safe, high-quality care.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN, or LPN program).
Licensure: Active, unencumbered Oklahoma RN or LPN license.
Certifications:
CPR / BLS required upon hire.
ACLS and PALS required (or must be obtained within designated timeframe per hospital policy).
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of acute care, emergency nursing practices, and custodial patient care.
Experience documenting in electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
Physical capability to sit, stand, bend, and lift/move up to 50 lbs. during the shift.
