Housekeeper
Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic is seeking a dependable, hardworking Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services (EVS) team. In this vital role, you will ensure our hospital provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
What You’ll Do:
Daily Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness of patient rooms, exam rooms, corridors, nursing stations, offices, restrooms, and lobbies.
Routine Tasks: Perform dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window/glass cleaning, and wiping down walls and handrails.
Waste & Safety: Empty facility trash cans, handle boxes, and safely replace filled sharps containers.
Stocking & Inventory: Keep paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer dispensers filled.
Floor & Room Prep: Make patient and Emergency Room beds, assist with moving furniture, and occasionally operate a floor buffer.
Light Facility Care: Perform basic equipment upkeep (changing vacuum bags/filters), remove and rehang privacy curtains for cleaning, and handle minor tasks like clearing a clogged toilet with a plunger.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required: Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Must be able to follow basic directions from supervisors and co-workers.
Preferred: High school diploma or GED is a plus.
Experience: 1–2 years of prior commercial cleaning or housekeeping experience is a plus, but we are happy to train the right candidate!
Key Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to work well independently or as a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Comfortable bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching overhead on a regular basis.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
